anchor worms?

can someone tell me where do anchorworms come from , are they hitchhikers when introducing new fish? come from plants?

Im not realy a Doctor but there is some info on the home page.. In the illness & disease section ..If you have anchor worms you need to start treatment

They are brought in by an infested fish.
That's why I always quarantine fish for a couple of weeks. This is to make sure I don't introduce any parasites into the pond.
