Hello all,

I am in the planning stages of my backyard pond. I am hoping to construct a pond about 18x20, with a bog and perhaps a stream. I have many, many questions and have enjoyed reading some of the posts here.

My hope is to have a stream of about 20 feet alongside the landscaping on one side of my patio, emptying into a pond. I hadn't originally planned on a bog, but it seems to be an excellent method of biological filtration, so I would like to incorporate one.

Hi Brian, Welcome and good luck with your pond. You will find a lot of good advice here from people with a lot experience. Make sure you have one area deep enough to protect your fish from predators and also a place for them to stay warm in the winter.
