Greetings. I just posted a large post on the newbe forum as I missed the direction to post here first. I have the space, desire and promission (yes wife is on board for now) to build a water gardin pond. I am limited ot 1000 sf per my city (no permit need at or under 1000 sf) so I am in the 20 by 50 range.

I plan on gathering as much information as possible before I start contruction this next spring 2011. Looking forward to picking all your brains on what to do and not to do before I break ground.

As said earlier, plan, plan, plan. Choose the layout carefully, and don't go cheap on the equipment, you get what you pay for. And if you plan on wintering fish outdoors make it at least 3-3.5 ft deep and use a bottom drain.
Good luck and enjoy the process! It is an awesome hobby!
