i spent a long while yesterday outside playing Pokemon and one of the places i had visited was a local botanical garden. this particular garden also has a community pea patch, hiking trail and its also next to a community center and park. it's also less than a mile walk from my house. i will be mainly highlighting the 2 ponds that this garden has.

walking through the gates, you immediately hear the sound of rushing/falling water (and the fragrance of tons of flowers). here's the split waterfall on the right:

it continues in a stream to a pond. the stream actually has other waterfalls, mostly deactivated except for the one near the gates which is the farthest one. (i think the deactivated alotta features b/s of limited hours, budget, etc. due to the pandemic). here;s one of the dry waterfalls (and string algea in the stream below it):

pix from the small bridge of the stream/waterfall before the pond.

and look over my shoulder of the stream and i just noticed another dry waterfall and stream on the left.

and here's the pond! water level looks low but plants look healthy tho esp. all the lillies poking outta the water. i think it's about a 20x20.

look at that big grey commercial skimmer! the pond has 2 of them. i've seen goldfish in the pond on other visits, didnt' see any today tho.

and here's the Japanese garden pond, which was pretty much deactivated and hasn't been maintained from the looks of it. the water is very low and fish are gone. Actually the pooled water might just be rain.

big pano shot:

i found it interesting that the pond bottom was cement.

i forgot to check how high it might have been, prob 4 or 5 feet. and here's the view of some of the garden and water below

Oh almost forgot to mention, the garden also has a Rosie The Riveter Rose Garden:

All in all, it was a nice day despite the drizzle we had.
