water hyacinth going brown?

Hello, my plants were healthy when I got them- It has been rainy the past few days, could this be why?. It gets half sun/shade. Also could it be from to much duckweed?

Alice, I just started a thread that might help you -- after I get some replies to it. There might not be enough nourishment in your water to sustain the water hyacinth -- the hyacinth is doing TOO good of a job at filtering the water . I don't think the duck weed is competing, but you could eliminate or reduce one or the other and see what happens.
