I'm able to quickly add another 8-12 inches to the back wall.
Added a skimmer/filter, pump, and 2 inch pvc hose to the upper/bog pond.
The first real expense was a 45 mil liner from pondliner.com.
Did some dumpster diving for carpet remnants to create a nice soft base for the liner.

Probably not the best fill material, buy my friend had all the manure I could use and it was free!
Didn't get all of the digging done before winter, spring thaw reveals need for a much higher back wall.
This area used to be a vegetable garden, fairly significant slope. Goal is to just use cut and fill to create natural earthen berm.
