Overview
My dad built a pond for my brothers and I 20 years ago as small kids. Fast forward to 2019 and the liner was just holding on and after the winter it was cracking all over.. so we pulled it all up. Kept back some of the plants that had survived. I wanted it deeper and wider. So we spent a week at the beginning of April this year and now hope as much nature as possible will come..
Planning and Construction
The pond is in two sections. One deep end (1.20m) for lily and fish.. and one end half as deep for plants and wildlife. We’ve got the old stone edging but a part has a natural bank for wildlife.
Fish / Plant Stock
Due to lockdown I’ve bought quite a lot of plants bareroot online and I’ve been very impressed with what was sent.
wanting lots of plant cover and hopefully plenty of wildlife will find a home and be able to hide from a few small fish we will add.
