My vision
My backyard pond was to improve Northern Virginia's ecosystem by creating a native wildlife landscape. The one thing I can do is a homeowner with a yard to help the native ecosystem is to plant more native plants and use less invasive species.
Pond Dimensions
roughly 12ftx7ftx4ft. I say roughly because by the time I finished I ended up placing the water level much higher then I had originally intended so it is now probably closer to 13ftx8ftx5ft due to the pond widening out at the top.
Filtration
Mechanical: PB1137 - SKIMMER WITH 10" WEIR OPENING Max. Pump Flow: 10,000 GPH
Biological: Wetland bog that is roughly 7ftx7ftx4ft.
