Tim's Pond

Overview

1800+ gallons. 3 ft cascading waterfall with a skimmer and upflow/lava rock filter. Foam fractionator behind the waterfall that is gravity fed. 4000 gph pump. Lots of rocks. Plants are being added slowly to the surrounding landscape. Plants around waterfall are irrigated with a small pump above the falls hooked to garden irrigation lines.

Planning and Construction

Built support blocks behind the waterfall. This turned out to be really good for maintenance. We already had power in this corner of the yard, due to an inground pool previously being present here. The same pool prevented me from digging the pond as deep as I wanted, though. I only got a couple feed down before I hit cement blocks. *sigh*
