I have two sarasa goldfish that are always getting in the bog somehow. I’ve given up trying to keep them out. They tend to swim together, one usually chasing the other around the pond. The other morning I noticed them back in the bog, side by side, and so still I questioned for a moment if they were alive. As I stood over them, one suddenly popped awake and furiously nudged the other one awake and to safety (underneath the closest floating plant). Either I’m imagining what I saw or they are more intelligent than I realized. Has anyone else ever seen anything like this before?
