I have also heard about throwing your mother-in-law into your pond. Either one makes for some entertainment, but neither will do much for your pond! :cheerful:

Considering I have the MIL from hell, I couldnt do THAT to my fish, no matter how entertaining it might be LOL ...

I installed a UV 3 weeks ago and I am not seeing much of an improvement yet...

My water is not green but it is dark and hard to see much more than 12 inches down. I was hoping the 2nd falls filter, cleaning the filters daily and the large UV would help quicker, maybe I need to give it more time?

What is the dark stuff in the water. If does not sound like algae.

yeah.. shanezam... U.Vs are for single cell algeas (green water) only. they are not for tannins, DOCs, or any other discoloration, organic or nonorganic.
BUT.. they can still serve a purpose...killing pathogens, and parasites.
