Thanks everyone! Of course I didn’t post the ugly pictures, an algal bloom last summer and a poor dead Goldie this winter when I added cold water from my rain barrel too fast. I really appreciate being able to learn from your experience.

I took y’alls advice and added more plants. Maybe I won’t get so much algae this summer.

while the papyrus will grow in leaps and bounds . IF YOU have a light fish load, rarely feed, there's no koi , and you maintain the filter cleaning you may have better luck. i'm not a little pond expert by any means addy has experience with tub ponds

I have a 300 gallon hot tub pond. It stays crystal clean. The little bog I had filtering got knocked off by some critter. I have a lot of water willow growing, floating heart and parrots feather, the algae has no chance to live. It stays clear all summer.

I have only fantails in the tub.
