i used soap and water and then windex. there is no way it was going in there. i literally punched myself in the face by accident and gave myself a bloody lip because i was twisting and pushing so hard and slipped.

i basically had to file the outside diameter of the end of the pipe to taper it, and then with more struggling and lube and my stone breaking mallet finally got it in.

what a nightmare

in the short demo video:

"using some effort, slide in the pipe."

this must be some sort of hilarious joke because i've been trying for the last half hour and can't get the damn pipe in

make double sure it's the right size hole drilled, also if I remeber correctly I think your suppose to sand and smooth the hole. that's what is actually pushing the sel to the pipe being installed. May take a little extra sanding?

I triple checked the sizes, double lubed, and sanded. The only thing that helped was filing the pipe to taper.

The good news is it's done and I tested my bd/skimmer/pump/filter/waterfall filter and everything seems to work great. Just had to close the ball valve a bit to adjust the flow

The instructions on uniseal's actual site say to file the pipe ends to an angle. Most of the people selling them leave that out of the instructions for some reason.

"Bevel the edge of the pipe about 30 degrees. This is just to get rid of the sharp edge on the pipe and to allow it to slide through the Uniseal easier.
Coat the pipe and the inside surface of the Uniseal with Mineral Oil, WD-40, or Liquid Dish soap, this will allow the pipe to slide through the Uniseal"
