I purchased a few goldfish at PetSmart for less than a dollar each. And got one oddball. He's turned yellow and black.

looks like you hit the jackpot . gold fish the look like koi can bring good money like 500 for a 3 inch fish

I knew there was something special about that one that was different. I told the guy at the store that I specifically wanted that one, because it didn't look like any of the others. When I got them they were about inch and half long, (if that) . They've grown a lot in these past couple of months. And that one has started showing his colors.

I love unusual colored goldfish and the mystery of what will they look like a few years from now. That is a lovely and unique fish. It reminds me of the Golden Corn Koi. I hope it keeps the black...................it might disappear with time.

One of my Petsmart feeder specials is currently turning white. Otherwise my unusual colored ones have mostly ended up orange. But I figure they might carry some more interesting color genes since they looked so different than most when smaller. SO I keep hoping for some rainbow colored babies.
