A nice 80 degree day. Spent the day cleaning out the pond, just one half of a home depot bucket of old leaves and some muck, not bad for not touching it since October.
One oil pan full of trap door snails sorted out of the muck. Various frogs tossed back in.

Then as the water cleared we checked the water temperature, a nice 66 degrees, the herd was jumping for bugs. So we decided to feed them.
The water is still murky from cleaning

Here are some of the fish in my pond: We were standing on the up hill bank about 10 feet above the fish.

Thanks jw, I was surprised at the colors I saw, as they came out to nibble on my legs while cleaning the pond.

I'm surprised too and they are coming up and eating like crazy and not fearful of you either. Guess you better get busy and protect them w/ the fencing or that darn ole bird Harry will be picking them off one by one!

I have fencing up around all edges except one, deer netting down the center, two alligators in the water. Adding a third soon lol

On dvr alert watching! Have not seen harry recently, one did fly over way above, no landings though.

Addy your fish are great. I think I will have to get some of the fantails. I love the flowing tails. :goldfish:

The pond is about 10k, the stream and little ponds add another 2-3 k It is about 26 feet long 10-20 foot wide, 1-5 feet deep. The one foot area is only one foot wide, it is my walk out, it goes pretty quickly down to 3 then down to 5.
