Our landscaper told us it is an annual here, zone 8a. If we cut it back and cover it with mulch do you think this cute plant will regrow come spring?
You never know, I have plants that should not live in maryland that survived the last very cold winter. So give it a try, might surprise you. I push the zones, a lot of them do fine.

I do the same - every garden has the potential to create micro-climates. Areas that are warmer (or cooler or wetter or drier) than the norm. I try, if it doesn't work I move it. If it dies, I forget about it!

This hibiscus is rated to zone 7, I forgot to mulch it, we hit zone 5 temps last winter, -15 and it came back beautifully.

Got to snag them when they are there, us bargain plant hunters know the deals!
