A good question Dave and I ask another... Does the 17 year old making $7.75 an hour running the fish department have time to do so when they have 3 customers waiting?
If that's what they are paying him for, then I think he has a responsibility to at least attempt to educate his customers -- that is, if he even knows what he's doing -- but that's another ball game..... When I shop for electronics, and I ask the salesperson a question, I expect an accurate answer, or at least, "I don't know, but let me find someone who can help you."

The sale person at Petsmart asked me a few questions though. Like how big is your tank (when I bought the goldfish) I told her I have an outside pond so she didn't press more. Then the other time other sale person asked me how big is my tank when I buy several guppies and other fish.

I think some people at the store know a little about the hobby and care enough to ask and tell you you can have the guppy in the pond (coz it's cold) and that type of thing.
