Colocasia vs alocasia

From what I've read, colocasia leaves point down and alocasia point up. Last year I bought a Waikiki colocasia and divided it into several little plants which I overwintered indoors and then distributed them around this spring. I planted 3 together by the porch and lo and behold, they look awfully different for having came from the same pot!
