Ahhhhhh I see it's protected in there so grows like a wild banshee. I don't even see any Parrots feather in my pond right now but hoping it will come back from somewhere down under when the weather warms up steady

Mine grows around 3 feet long, if not longer, jw, even creeps out onto the dirt and roots. I have to yank it off and on out of the stream ponds.

I think what happened to mine was I had my air bubbling volcano added to the area where the Parrots Feather was growing nicely and that constant bubbling water disturbed it too much and it went bye bye. If I get any to come back I will move it to a calmer area in the pond and maybe try placing it's roots in some soil to help it get going faster. I love the stuff,it's so pretty floating across the surface of the water

It doesn't need a lot of soil, j.w.. I've found that 7 to 10 cuttings in a 4" pot of soil will take off and cover a 3-4' circle in a month. Once they're established, they just seem to keep going, soil or no soil.

Thanks Haro, I'll give it a try and see how they take off. They did great w/o soil for years and then when I put the big aerator in they sunk and withered away :)

Funny it was doing so good each Summer and then the bubbling water came and made them all float away to other parts of the pond. They might be there somewhere waiting to grow again.
