HPDE and Flanges

Hi there
Could i use these type of flanges: https://www.swelluk.com/yamitsu-tank-liner-connectors

With this type of HDPE liner: https://www.swelluk.com/pond/pond-construction-and-maintenance/pond-liners/hdpe-pond-liners

The guy in my local fish shop told me no, but the silicon only acts like a seal right? as the screw provide the mechanical clamping force

If so what sealant should I go for like standard marine safe silicon? If this wont work would it work with either PVC or LDPE liner?

I would go for a EDPM liner but sadly my budget will not stretch that far.

Hello and welcome.

I’ve only ever worked with EPDM and that flimsy plastic stuff they sell (don’t know if it’s PVC or not). EPDM is very forgiving. PVC is not so much so.

I would have thought any good pond sealant would work with it. I have a TPO liner and this was used to seal the flanges RDL Pond and Aquarium Sealer Liner

Yes those will work. But I would. Find a epdm gasket or silicone and some caulking. Be careful not to over tighten as that can be worse than not tight. Enough,

Thanks for all the help got all 5 on today using ct1 and tbh all went well got some good seals
