Hi,

I've built a small castle in the garden for the kids,

In front of it I've built a "moat" its not deep 450mm 4800mm long and 700mm wide (18"x16'x2'4")

I want to fit a pump and filter than can lift the water to around 2100mm (7') to pour out of a couple of pipes mounted on the front wall of the castle in front of it.

It's all a bit of a disney build, timber frame etc and I've got good power going to it, I've seen many pumps etc, and doubt I'll put fish in it given the lack of depth.

Without planting and fish etc, how can I avoid a green mist? and get the lift on the pump.

I'd love any suggestions you may have

Welcome!
Depending on the size and length of the plumbing, and the rate you want to move the water at, maintaining a sufficient water level could be an issue.
Chlorinating the water will help keep the water clean.

We would love to see some pictures.

This will be difficult to implement as you have described with only about 130 liters of water to work with,
I get about 400 gallons. She says the moat is 16 feet (4.8 m) long. Did you use 16" instead?

What I'd be worried about is a 7' drop into such a narrow moat is going to have losses from splashing and wind.

Like others, I really want to see photos!
