Now we've adopted a swallowtail caterpillar. Feeding it lots of dill and queen anne's lace. Not great images, but going to give it a try with this little guy / gal.

Cool posts... Love nature. .. been obsessed this year in giving nature a hand. .. made several bird feeders, houses, and just finished a butterfly garden last week ... had 4 or 5 red admirals today a few other little fellows I couldn't identify ( one little cool white and purple fellow that wouldn't cooperate for a photo) .. then this one in the pic. . He or she was enjoying my fruit feeder...

Tried to identify on line but no luck so far. .. any ideas? ??

The swallowtail is still a chrysalis. I'm not sure how long it's going to be before it emerges. Fall is here now, and I'm kind of worried about it comming out too late. Does anyone know if they migrate, or over-winter as a chrsalis?
