I've worked on this each summer for the past few summers. First summer was planning and learning, 2nd summer hand excavation with also some machinery, and material purchase, 3rd summer was fully operational and detailed, this summer will be fine tuning, and landscape improvements.

You can make hiding the liner a tad easier if you make a step in the soil all the way around top of the pond. Fold back the liner. And a few shovel fulls of dirt
