Hi,

I've got some pond plants for a newly inherited garden pond.

Ranunculus Aquatillis & Elodea Densa.

Both appear to not have roots and are not weighed down.

I have no experience in pond stuff, do I just throw these into the pond or do I have to put them in soil first and put the pots into the pond?

Thanks

I see lead weight strips on the first one. 2nd one is anacharis and may have weights as well . They don't need soil to grow but if you want to put them in a pot with some pea gravel, that would keep them from getting pulled into your pump.

I see weights, too. I had trouble with those little strips, though - they seem to make the stem rot and break off right at that point. I would anchor them with a small pot and some gravel like @mrsclem suggested.
