My first year water lilies are on their second flower. Thank you Lowe’s for these pretty lilies and Addey for the potting method. Osmocote is working!

So thanks for all the help. It's been a while since I last posted about this so here's the update:

Finally, although by the time I got home since the pic was my wife's it was starting to curl back in. It's wayyyy more above water than the knees I have at work

Do I wait to cut it off until after it goes back in the water?

Some varieties stand further above the water than others. And you can cut it off when it stops opening - you'll know.

I meant to add - in years past the lilies would start blooming while I was still working. My husband would text me photos of what I was missing at home. By the time I got home from school they would all be closed up. He would give me the bloom count for the day. This year we haven't had a single bloom yet, so I haven't missed anything! (This is the week - temps predicted in the high 80s FINALLY!)
