I have several submerged water troughs in our garden. between 110 -180 gals. They have been running several years
and doing well. The question is can I prophetically treat them to control algae growth.? over the winter i pull the fish
but the hair algae goes wild with no bio load. They are a size I can easily control water quality other wise. Thanks

The only effective treatment for 'Hair' algae is a Phophorus binder, such as PhosOut. You may be pulling the fish, but you are leaving the nutrient load.

Thank you both. Last month I dosed the one pond that was full of hair algae and killed it off.
Got me thinking about dosing on a schedule
To keep if from coming back in an uninfested
Clean setup.
Yes I'd like to understand dyes. Thanks
