Hello all,

I am new to this forums and need your advice. I have a 2500 gallon koi pond for about 9 years. I was running a mechanical sand and gravel filter and a K1 moving bed bio filter in 30 gallon barrels for awhile. Now that whether is getting warmer and it is time to re-due my filters. I bought two 55 gallon barrels and more K1 media. I was thinking use the first barrel as a radial filter (settler) and second barrel as a K1 mechanical filter. I wonder if this is a good idea. I can go with K1 mechanical on the first and K1 moving bed bio on the second.
I need your expert advice. My water just can stay clear. This pond was originally a water fall pond with a 1.5 HP pump. I converted to a pond filter when we moved in by T off the water outlet and adding valves and filters.

My ultimate goals are easy maintenance and effective. I was running multiple media pads before the sand and gravel and water was pretty clear but I just hate cleaning it.

Thank you in advance.
