Hey all. This is my first post on here!
I have a pond at home with some smooth newts in it. Given the time of year I am concerned that they will be looking for plants to lay their eggs in. I have plenty of hornwort growing in the pond and a nice big water lily but, not much else. Does anyone know if newts are happy to lay their eggs in hornwort leaves or would they prefer something with a broader leaf?
I have read that water mint and water forget-me-not's are good however, I don't think I have much space for anything else and would rather not spend money on plants that I don't need!
Many thanks for your help
