Welcome to February Photo of the Month! :)

Here are the rules:
  • The theme this month is 'Close-up shots'
  • No more than one submission per member.
  • If you would like to make a submission, please reply to this topic and attach your photo (with a description if you want).
  • The deadline for submissions is January 20th (this topic will automatically lock at midnight GMT).
  • Once all submissions have been made, there will be a poll in the forum to select the winner.
  • Please only reply to this topic if you are making an entry. Please do not make any comments on the other photos, you will have the opportunity to make comments when the poll is released on January 21st.

The winner will be announced on February 1st, and the winning photo will be displayed on the forum main page during February.

Two drops colliding.

What you see is a larger water drop falling downward onto a smaller drop of coffee moving upward. The coffee was in a bowl below. A drop of water falls into the coffee and like a rain drop will rise in a column until it separates. The yellow you see is the drop of coffee moving upward about to separate from the column. A second drop of water comes down and hits the upward drop at a very precise time to create this collision.
