I think I know the answer, but thought I would ask anyway.

I am using a 1 1/2" hose. I am planning to install a UV light. Should I cut the fitting of at the RED line in the photo?

Thanks

You don't want the water going through the uv fast or it can't do it's job .Divert some of the water somewhere else .

I wouldn't cut it. I'd assume the rating for the UV took into account that smallest opening. Modifying the UV to increase flow could render the UV useless unless water is restricted another way, like pump size or valve and bypass. But I'd always add a valve and bypass anyways, so not much harm in cutting the fitting..
