Good evening everyone! I'm new to the forum and am very happy to have found this place!! Before I ask my question I have to admit that I have a sickness. I started out with a small 100 gallon tiny pond, jumped to a 250 moved on to a 1000 and at the present time have been bitten by a 2500 gallon variety. Its a sickness that just seems to get worse with time I guess and I'm happy :)
Anyway, I purchased some Frog Bit and Pickerel Rush. They've been in my pond for a couple of weeks. The Frog Bit just kind of floats around on its side, is that normal or do I need to anchor it so it can right itself? Also my Pickerel Rush leaves have snapped over in the winds we've been having. I am guessing the plant will just grow new leaves. I've never really had "pond plants" in any of my other water features. I've just had forests of garden plants all around them.

Sounds like your location is vulnerable to a stiff breeze, that would bother the faster growing, soft tissue type plants such as those. You may want to rethink what you plant to cope with persistent stormy stuff

Look for plants which sway and bend easy, that root in real good....

Agree with what @adavisus said. But another thing to keep in mind is that most pond plants [well, actually, most plants in general] will go through an adjustment period. And with ponds, this can well mean that you won't see much from your plant until the 2nd season rolls around.
