It will probably be two seasons before they can be "shared" The hybrids are bred to grow slower. But once they have enough tubers , who knows what will happen lol

What's your weather been like

We got a lot of rain in June and did have some cooler than usual days. I probably should fertilize them again, but when I did it in May it caused an algae bloom.

It all started when I repotted the lilies in pea gravel last fall. Now I know the fertilizer tabs dissolve too quickly in the pea gravel. (I found this forum too late, or else I would have seen that everyone was using kitty litter for their lilies.) I need to repot the lilies in kitty litter, but want to wait until the fall. I am just jealous of everyone's healthy looking water lilies!

Jealous of your nice clear water.

I too am very pleased, it is crystal clear. That is pea gravel on the bottom in the 5 foot area that you can see below the fish. Not put there on purpose but over the years some has wandered in.

All the work of the bog and the plant load. I watch the fish snack on any algae that attempts to grow.

Thanks @addy1 It is beautiful! When I was last buying water lilies, I came across a few articles and references about the developement of blue and purple hardies. Why those colors only come on tropicals........I guess only God knows.

They are at around a one foot over the soil level at this moment. Sending deeper tomorrow, they need a little more room

Ha! My mind apparently couldn't access that price - I read it as $49.95! Wowzers! But you know what - my husband has sent me Valentines Day flowers that cost him that much and they lasted a week, so it's all relative. (He's been reprimanded and disciplined - don't worry. All my flower gifts are purchased at the garden center now, in pots, ready to plant in the garden!)
