Hi there,
Thought I should pop in and say hello as I've just posted a question as my first post, which is probably a bit rude (sorry).
I have a small pond (140 litres) in my back garden. Started out with a couple of goldfish about 7 years ago, they grew too big for their tank and I decided to build a pond for them instead of upgrading their tank size (mainly as we had no real space indoors for a massive tank).
My dad helped me build a pond from a plastic water tank - dug into the lawn and then the portion that pokes out has wooden sleepers and cladding around the outside - the sleepers mean you can sit on the edge of the pond and watch the fish. Found a fountain / filter with a UV bulb that was small enough for my pond, which is great as it stays nice and clean. Main bane of my existence if blanket weed - I swear that stuff just won't be defeated, it's a constant battle!!
I have always loved fish, as I find them so lovely and relaxing to watch! During the summer I am out every evening with a cup of tea, perched on the side of the pond.
