The storm was no biggy here at the rv site. Max wind around 15, 1.23 inches of rain.

We drove over to ocean city to check out the waves. I could barely stand up in the wind. The sand was doing a good job at sand blasting my legs. What a difference 10 miles makes.

I could barely stand up against the wind. The video is shaky.

That was a old guy out in the surf with a metal detector. They kept yelling at him to get back to shore.
There were two wave runners out in the inlet, no surfers. Nobody was allowed in the water. I think the rangers/coast guard made them get out of the water.

Every time there is a storm of any size near us in the Gulf of Mexico all of the local surfer dudes head to the beach to ride the waves. Luckily no one has been lost so far.
Hermine was a 'baby storm' as these storms go.
We have seen and rode out so many that only a Category 3 or stronger really gets the natives' attention.

That's some serious surf. Glad everything is OK with you. My nieces in Tampa did not have school Thursday or Friday thanks to the storm. I texted my 9-year-old niece on Thursday saying "Long holiday weekend?" and I got a text back from her: "Yes and YESSSSSSSS!" :D

Well being in Arizona for years where our bad storms are dust storms, I was impressed!

It was a baby storm, but sure is messing the beaches up.

No beach sitting, blowing sand hurts. We are going to head home come back another day.

We had wind gusts up to 45 mph here and we are far from where the storm was at .No rain but it was cool enough out to get lots of work done .Almost finished with shelves in my sons office and lawn mowed and trimmed ,so it was just a nice day and by tuesday they are saying back up to mid 90's again for the rest of the week .Friends in Atlantic City NJ got heavy rain and wind damage but was not as bad as what they were predicting

We used to get the crazy surfer dudes dodging the cops when we would get tsunami warnings in Hawaii trying to ride the big wave. Big dummies. Glad Hermine is petering out and you guys are safe.

I love the watching the waves, but when you are getting sand blasted it loses some of the fun! So we are home back to sunny Frederick. A nice 81, hitting the 90's again by the end of the week.

Did you at least get some Thrashers Fries before you left?

We got some fries, some pop corn and that beyond good ice cream down the road about 15 minutes. At the dairy farm, they make their own, so good! Raspberry and chocolate chunk!

The beaches are still being ripped apart, the storm is stalled just far enough away to still have high winds and beach wrecking surf.
