Not to long ago, maybe 5 days, I bought a fairly large hornwort about 2 feet in length (I cut it in half). Anyways, one of the halves has eight small oval shaped seed pod things with 3 long spines. I was wondering what these are, and what to do with them. If they are seeds, I think it would be awesome if I could grow them from seed.

Ceratophylum demersum does form tiny black seeds, but it is far more easily propagated by simply breaking the stem into sections, which will form their own plants.
