Look for some shubunkin fan tails, small fish very colorful and would fit your pond beautifully. I have 9 in my 300 gallon hot tub pond.

I am so sorry for your loss. We do get so attached to them. You made the right choice at the time to set him free there. He had a great final adventure of all of that space and new buddies.

If I were suggesting a new fish, shubunkins would be my top, I have had ones that got sorta big ( like 6 inches ) but they would most likely be a great choice! ( correct me if I am wrong )
