My bog needs LOTS of floaters!

Spring greetings to all pond the site. I am on my second year of a shipping container pond, along with a new upflow bog filter put ion at the same time. I was
given a literal truckbed load of native lilies late last fall, and I was sure they had all died off. But as Mother Nature is inclined to do, they made it thru the winter
and are leafing out again (thankfully!).
So my question to those who have larger bog filters is, can anyone recommend a trustworthy supplier for bulk - and I mean LOTS - of hyacinth or other
floaters to fill the bog filter with? The bog itself is 5' x 12'.
Any and all help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks -

I agree with GBBUDD. For an area that's 5' X 12' maybe buy 2 or 3 water hyacinth & sit back. You will be composting the surplus long before summer is over! I wouldn't suggest putting them in before mid - late May, though. They don't like cold water & if you put them in too early you can stunt their growth. (Which may or may not be a bad thing, actually...)

Thanks for all of the responses - your input is much appreciated. That would save me a lot of upfront $$ as well. I’ll add some pics her of the before & after. Note that these photos are before it was landscaped….

I am impressed with the though that went into this but a fear the one clean out at the end won't be able to do much for you as by the time and water pressure gets out to it it will be minimal at best even if it's a back wash pipe theres so many cuts in the pipes it won't do much

Gambusia. Another government oversell. Once you have them, good luck getting rid of them. And here's a fun fact - goldfish eat far more mosquito larva than any so called mosquito fish.

I’ve had my own schools of mosquito fish for decades, and I haven’t ever had an issue with overpopulation. Goldfish don’t know when to stop eating or growing - and it costs too much to take them all to the spay/neuter clinic 😉
