I want to know is there a significant difference between requirements for temperature between these two plants? I been trying with nucifera seeds but no go. Im getting some floating leaves during summer but not much more and plant isnt able to survive winter. Ive been also trying seeding in aquarium which should be good but as the leaves come they go.
Ive been reading about lutea and distribution of it and it seems that its somewhat hardier that nucifera and that is found all the way to Canada. I want to try with it if is better for colder climates that nucifera.
Im in about zone 7-8.

I only grew nelumbo tubers, they did pretty well. Once warm weather hits I will be able to tell how well they did over winter.
