I finally got settled into my new home. Probably live here for the duration of my life. I had a friend dog my pond with a skid loader, and I finished it off by hand. It's around 10000 gallons, and in shade all day. I have two 55 gallon drums full of lava rock. Powered by a 4000 gph pump. I only added 5 butterfly koi so far, but I might add 2 or 3 more. I did my homework this time.
After all this prep, I ended up with a snapping turtle...a big one, about a foot in diameter. I was so scared for my fish. My 20 lbs terrier dog somehow caught it, and I finished it off. I thank my dog for saving my fish!
Once I finish the edge work(lots of rock needed) I'll post some pics. I'm proud of this build.
