Planning my second ever pond. First pond was 3000 gallons and a big hit. Unfortunately we moved out and let the kids have that house (and my pond is NOT being well taken care of ). It was a simple setup with just a single pump and waterfall and plants to do all the work.

I am now going bigger at our new house. It'll be in the ballpark of 8-10000 gallons. I've got most of the major stuff figured out and I'm now starting to look at some of the smaller details. The first question I've run into- flex vs rigid PVC. Because I'm going to have more components (multiple pumps, skimmers, bottom drain, UV), is there an advantage to one or the other? I figure the rigidity of regular PVC means everything needs to be setup precisely and if not... time to go measure again. Versus the flex PVC has more wiggle room, but how are the connections? Are they a pain? Are they prone to leaking? And is it easy to cut them to size?
