OASE UV bulb verses standard cheaper UV bulb?

Hi all.
I'm new to the forum, so please forgive me if this is a stupid question.

I bought a oasefiltoclear 12000 with 18w uv light last year. I'm happy with the filter and know that I need to change the UV bulb for the new pond season.

My question is do I buy an oase 18w UV bulb which is costly or a standard 18w UV bulb at a fraction of the price?
Anyone know if the cheaper works as well as the oase bulb?

Hello and welcome!

Sorry, don’t have a UV set up, so I can’t help you, but I have always been a believer in the saying, you get what you pay for. Be sure to check that the replacement bulb has a compatible base....otherwise it won’t fit.
