Just keep a eye on it. I have creeping Jenny and need to remove some now and then ow the stream bed gets filled up with the plant and diverts the water flow. My stream is a lot smaller than Rob's and comes down a steep hill with switch backs. It takes time but I do go in and yank it now and then over the summer.
Looks great and helps filter the water.

super, I only have a small narrow stream. on a different question about water diversion, my daughter bought me a stone brdige which I have put over my stream and it kind of sits in it. I noticed this morning that it has changed colour from the bottom so looks like it is absorbing the water. My question is do I need to raise it out of the water or will it once absorbed fully ie changed all to same colour, will it stop absorbing water from the stream? When I say bridge it is ornamental, my stream is tiny!!!

Hard to tell from the picture but that appears to be made out of concrete to look like stone. It will continue to stain and wick water. You will have to take it out or seal it. It will not hurt anything as is other than the color.
