I have lost several fish to ulcers, I have treated with Blagdon products, 7 day course of Melanie,, added salt, removed from pond and treated wounds with alcohol . Used propolis and lost one again last week. At a loss, all water parameters seem OK.

Not knowing much about fish diseases or their treatments I will leave that to someone else but I just wanted to welcome you. Hope you can find a cure.

Hello and welcome!

First of all, we need some information about your pond:
  • How big is it
  • what kind of fish do you have and how many
  • what filtration do you have
  • has anything changed recently such as adding new fish
  • what are the actual numbers for your water tests
I’ve never heard of putting alcohol on a fish’s wound!

Welcome. I won’t repeat what the others have said, but yes, we need numbers and pictures to give better advice. Please, read through the various threads and see if you can find any other info that can help you.

Thank you all for the welcome.
The pond is 3M x 3M x 1M , 9000litres . Filter is a Oase Proficlear compcct with a 72w UV lamp, all water parameters are ok, Ph 7,5, Amonia 0.2, nitrite 0.25, phosphate 0. 8 air stones
I have approx 15 koi (4 are in 10lb range) 4 shrunken, 3 goldfish
Double pond size in August and noticed 2or 3 with red marks. Treated all pond and eventually transferred to 3x2x1metre pool whilst did work on new pond extension. Treated pool with Melafix for 7 days.
All put into new pond , with same water.
3 chagoi were added in July but were in isolation for 3 weeks and showed no sign of disease.

Without going into a lot of detail.....because there is a “big picture” here. You might have too many fish which has compromised the water quality.

Welcome to our forum!

Your pond is about 2377 us gallons, that is big enough for 2-3 koi not 15. Unless you have horrendous water filtration that might be your problem with illness.
