I have a similar weir on my pond. Water will run back along the bottom of the weir. The liner between the filter and weir should extend over liner that directs it to the pond.

OK, the pond guys found scales in the waterfall box and a tiny bit of fish remnants today, so somehow a coon or fox got under the net and had a very very expensive meal. I don't know how, but it got in. The pond was netted, but it did not have netting right over the waterfall box. It will now.

I want be done with the pond, but husband wants to keep it. He also wants some koi. So we are starting from scratch. I don't even know what the point is when a fox or coon are going to come by again and eat the fish. I am just so disgusted with the whole thing. This is the second time the pond's been cleaned out of koi.

The chronic mysterious leak has not yet been found and the big aerator is not going back in the pond. IF the waterfalls work, there's not point and I never liked the thing anyway.

Well, any suggestions for fish or anything else that would look nice? The net is staying on the pond.
He wants at least some koi and a couple catfish. The pond is 12 feet long, 7 ft wide and about 3.5 feet deep.

Getting a netting with a tent like cover so that it doesn't look bad.

A person can have a lovely pond without fish. Plant marginal flowers like iris and water lilies. I kept losing koi in our harsh Michigan winters. I now just do goldfish, and I kind of wish someone would eat some of them.
