I don't know if any fish that eat string algae. None of mine will touch it, but will eat other types of algae.

I think the only way to deal with string algae is to pull it out. I use a toilet brush bought just for that purpose that is taped to a bamboo tomato stake. That way I can easily reach the algae without having to crawl around.
