a good day at the pond

I actually got to hand feed some of the kids. Basically three are the brave ones. Two blackies and one tan and brown. Rest of them won't approach unless these three do. Very exciting and fun day.

yeah...i was excited the first time one took food from my hand...it was like a big milestone for me...enjoy it they will eventually swimright up in your hands and let you pet them..and they like getting rubbed under their chins!

mine like belly rubs and like to get in you hands and be held .The little fantails like to snuggle in my hand .

Wow! all this exciting stuff. I sat there with my hand in the water for about 20 minutes till they stopped just swimming by and actually took the food. I had to push the tan and brown one away a few times cuz he was such a pig.lol

if you dont feed heavy.their hunger overrides their fear and they will come to feed from you quicker. thats the way i started mine hand feeding.

feed them when summer comes blueberries ,strawberries and watermellon and they will really love you .

Blueberries? uh oh. I planted some right next to the pond. Hope they don't jump out to grab some. And we have strawberries in the garden. No watermelons. Have to buy that at the store.

watermellon all I do is take a slice hold it in the pond and wait for the attack .I also buy the treats at pet mountain that are strawberry ,orange and blueberry and they love them and they are not expensive and when you open the bag they smell oh so good
