LOL! I just used Paint that comes with the computer. Normally I'll use Google Sketchup, which you can download for free...but it's more involved. But you can get some great 3D stuff out of it. It's actually great for sketching out a pond setting or even filtration. It doesn't take long to learn, and can churn out some nice drawings.

I use Visio for simple sketches and AutoCAD for more involved ones where dimensions are critical.
It is always fun to see what others use. Both Visio and Autocad let you build libraries of parts so you can drag and drop objects once created.
