It seems like every food out there nowadays is "color-boosting," and even the stuff that doesn't advertise it has a high amount of carotenoid-rich ingredients. I'm trying to get my fingerlings big enough to survive the winter, so I'm focusing on growth pellets like Saki-Hikari and Microbe-Life High Growth and Energy. The problem is, all of the white on my large fish is slowly turning yellow.
The water parameters are fine. I even had my fish vet come to check them out and he said that health-wise, they're great. But look at my poor kohaku . Even though he's pond-grade, his shiroji was beautiful at the beginning of the summer.
Is there any way to promote growth without making my fish look like they have scurvy?
