Apple snail wintering in the house question

I found a huge apple snail in my pond last summer. I set him (Joe) up in a 20 gallon tank for the winter with his 2 goldfish buddies He's doing great! I feed them boiled lettuce every night along with algae tabs and, of course, fish food. Here's my problem. I'm going away for 9 days. I'll be getting an automatic fish feeder for the goldfish but how will Joe eat? Nobody will be boiling lettuce for Joe. Do you think he will be OK for 9 days and not starve?

I second the "Yup"! Snails are great at finding leftovers and any algae, he'll be just fine.

Thanks guys. I'm feeling better about going away now. (All this worry and the money I've spent over a snail!)
