Aquascape Ultraklean 2000 pond filter output flow

When I backwash the filter and reset it, the filtered water flow is noticeable in the there are ripples in the water at the output hose and the plants nearby move a little.

A couple of days later the ripples and plant movement are gone and I can't tell if the flow has slowed down or even stopped.

Does the flow normally decrease or stop or should I have it checked? I looked in the manual and couldn't find anything specific about constant flow.

Decrease in output usually means the filter needs to be cleaned. Or it could be the pump is getting clogged.
